GUWAHATI: Pan Bazar Police have begun an investigation into the Industrial Co-Operative Bank Limited scam.
On Tuesday, Pan Bazar Police raided the Industrial Co-Operative Bank Limited in Pan Bazar and directed the bank officials to submit all necessary documents. Reserve Bank of India (RBI) officials have also started investigation into the alleged scam.
A case (489/2021 u/s 120 (B)/408/409/468/471 IPC) was registered in the Pan Bazar Police Station against eight top-level personnel of the Industrial Co-Operative Bank Limited after Bhadreswar Barman, president of the Nagarik Suraksha Mancha, Assam, lodged an FIR alleging that the eight persons resorted to financial misappropriation and forgery in the bank amounting to Rs 9,50,61,499.
