GUWAHATI: The Regional Implementation Office (RIO), Guwahati of the Department of Official Language under the Union Ministry of Home Affairs, conducted an inspection of official records and documents pertaining to the implementation and promotion of official language during the financial year 2021-2022 at M/s Engineering Projects (India) Limited (EPI) here on Wednesday.

According to a press release, Mukesh Thakur, Regional in-charge of EPI's North Eastern Regional Office, Guwahati, welcomed Badri Yadav, Deputy Director, Regional Implementation Office (NER), Guwahati and honoured him with an Assamese gamosa.

The inspection programme started with lighting of the ceremonial lamps by Badri Yadav, Mukesh Thakur, Sushil Kumar, GM (EPI), Naiyer Azam, GM-Fin (EPI), and Utpal Patowary, AGM (EPI).

During the inspection, various official records and documents such as Quarterly Rajbhasha Reports, files of meetings of Rajbhasha Implementation Committee, files pertaining to the compliance of Section 3(3) of The Official Language Act, 1963, Proforma of Rubbers stamps, Forms, Boards, Name Plates, Visiting Cards and files of other Rajbhasha-related records and documents were inspected. Books of Hindi Languages were also exhibited during the programme.

From EPI, Sushil Kumar, Naiyer Azam and other senior officials and employees were present during the inspection programme.

Badri Yadav spoke about the Constitutional obligation of the employees of Central Government offices to make progressive use of Hindi in their official works. He appreciated efforts of Rajbhasha Division of EPI's North Eastern Regional Office, Guwahati for the implementation of official language.

Mukesh Thakur encouraged all employees to put their best efforts for the implementation and promotion of official language. He also expressed gratitude towards Badri Yadav for his invaluable guidance and support.
