GUWAHATI: Claiming the final NRC as only a draft like before, Hindu Yuva Chatra Parishad (HYCP) challenges Pratik Hajela to publicly publish the names of the nineteen lakh six thousand and six hundred fifty seven people, whose names didn’t come in the final list. President Balen Baishya claimed that the maximum number of people whose name didn’t come in the final NRC list are the Hindu Indian citizens while the rest are children and minors, so, Pratik Hajela will not be able to make the list public.

Also criticizing the government Baishya said, “We’re accusing the government too, who filed the affidavit by accepting 1971 as the base year for NRC and now it’s trying to run away by putting all the accusation upon Pratik Hajela. We’re totally convinced that not a single foreigner will be identified and thrown away through the NRC published on August 31.”

Baishya further added, “If the NRC that has been prepared by taking 1971 as base year is not cancelled, the Parishad will continue its protest. We will not take this NRC as the final one and we’ll always take it as a draft.” Challenging the central government Baishya said that if they can’t prepare a NRC for Assam by taking 1951 as base year then they have to prove it by preparing NRC for all the states of India by taking 1971 as the base year, and if they can’t do so, the central government must declare that Assam is not under the Indian Constitution.
