It's final; All Assam Students' Union to amend constitution

GUWAHATI: As anticipated, the AASU (All Assam Students' Union) has decided to amend its constitution. The central executive committee of the students' body met at Gauhati University on Tuesday and took a resolution to amend its constitution. The meeting also constituted a committee to draft its constitution. Amongst others, the drafting committee includes AASU's adviser-in-chief Samujjal Bhattacharya, presidentDipanko Kumar Nath and general secretary Lurinjyoti Gogoi.

The drafting committee is supposed to place the draft at the delegates' meeting of the AASU's general conference to be held at Duliajan from November 18-21. The amendment to the constitution will be after a though discussion of the draft at the conference. The conference will form the new central committee of the AASU for the next term.
