GUWAHATI: Indian Youth Congress (IYC) National President Srinivas Bhadravathi Venkata did not appear before the CID on Monday after he was summoned to its office. The National Commission for Women wrote to the state police, asking them to intervene and initiate action against Srinivas on the allegations made by Angkita Dutta. For investigation, a CID officer was entrusted to look into the matter. The CID officer has asked him to appear at its headquarters in Assam’s Guwahati on Monday for an investigation.

According to the source, Srinivas could not appear due to some health issues.

It may be mentioned that the Guwahati police on Sunday summoned Srinivas Bhadravathi Venkata and asked him to appear at Dispur police station on May 2 in connection with a case filed by Angkita Dutta. In a notice sent to Srinivas BV, East Guwahati ADCP Moitrayee Deka asked him to appear before her at Dispur Police Station in Guwahati on May 2 at 11:00 a.m.
