GUWAHATI: Japanese Encephalitis (JE) has claimed another life in the state. This time it was a class seven child hailing from the Udalguri district of the state who was under medical care in Guwahati. The student was undergoing medical treatment at the Gauhati Medical College Hospital (GMCH), where he breathed his last on Sunday. He was a resident of Kadabil Village and a student at the North East Public School in Majbat. The National Health Mission (NHM) of Assam revealed that the state had approximately 362 reported cases of JE this year so far, with a total of 19 fatalities as of August 11.
