Kamrup Admin Declares Local Holiday For Holi On March 19

Guwahati: In a bid to celebrate the festival of colours, the Kamrup administration has declared a local holiday on March 19 on account of Holi and Dol Jatra.

In this regard, the Kamrup administration issued a notification which stated that all the government offices, financial institutions and banks falling under the jurisdiction of the Kamrup district will remain closed on the day.

The notification further stated that the officers, staff and teachers, who will be on duty with the ongoing HSLC and HSSLC examinations will be exempted from the purview of this holiday.

''The essential services in the district are also exempted from this holiday,'' the notification read.
