GUWAHATI: Kamrup (Metro) Deputy Commissioner Biswajit Pegu held a meeting with representatives of various departments about the conduct of the Assembly elections amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
The meeting was attended by officers of the District Administration, GMC (Guwahati Municipal Corporation), and Health Department. The delegates discussed about spreading awareness among the masses about COVID-19 by using hoardings, banners, and audio-visual mediums.
The delegates have decided to install biomedical wash management system in every polling station. As per the protocol, the polling stations will be sanitized before and after polling.
The voting will be held in four constituencies of Kamrup (M) on April 6. A total of 1,707 polling stations will be designated for the four constituencies — East Guwahati, West Guwahati, Jalukbari, and Dispur.
