Kamrup Metro DC Biswajit Pegu Directs Officials to Increase COVID Vaccination Centres

GUWAHATI: Kamrup Metro Deputy Commissioner Biswajit Pegu has directed the officials concerned to increase the number of vaccination centres in the district.

The DC has asked the officials to introduce mobile vaccination centres to vaccinate senior citizens and specially-abled persons.

The DC underlined that positive cases were high in the Dhirenpara, Fatasil, and Ambari areas. However, due to the fewer number of vaccination centres, scores of people are yet to be inoculated in these areas.

DC Pegu urged the officials to focus on increasing the vaccination drives in these areas along with the rural areas of Kamrup Metro.

In this regard, the DC chaired a meeting at the DC's conference hall here on Saturday. All the Circle Officers of Kamrup Metro, officials from the Education Department, Social Welfare Department, and National Urban Livelihoods Mission were present.
