GUWAHATI: Fight against Injustice of APSC, a forum, has said that it is the lack of reforms in the APSC (Assam Public Service Commission) that 2018 preliminary of the combine competitive examination was plagued by irregularity.

Addressing the media on behalf of the forum at Guwahati Press Club here on Saturday, Manas Pratim Baruah said: “The irregularities in the 2018 APSC prelim exam are the outcome of lack of reforms in the commission. Breaking all previous records, grace marks were given in as many as 52 answer keys. The results of the prelim examination were declared on March 13, 2019. As many as 3,361 candidates were selected based on an ample number of wrong questions. The listed candidates got marks even for wrong answers. The APSC then came out with an additional list of 406 candidates selected after suo moto re-verification of wrong official answer keys (94). The process of suo-moto re-verification and reexamination based on reset answer keys itself is a violation of the APSC (Procedure and Conduct of Business) Rules 2010.” The forum raised ten such irregularities in APSC conducting the preliminary examination.
