Latasil Durga Puja to feature 65-ft-tall Shiva Linga in Guwahati city

GUWAHATI: One of the most popular Durga Puja organisers of the city, the Latasil Durga Puja Committee will be constructing a massive Shiva Linga to attract devotees as well as visitors. Talking to the Sentinel, Bijit Pradip Das, Secretary of the Latasil Durga Puja Committee said that the massive project is being handled by Jugo Bose an expert in the field from Cooch Bihar in West Bengal. He also mentioned that work is going on at full speed and this massive creation would be ready by October 20.

He also mentioned that several other attractions are in place for this year’s celebration. Traditional Nagara Naam performances will be organised from 21 October onwards and a puppet show will be organised on 22 October. The organisers also mentioned that this year’s budget for the celebration is around Rs 17 lakhs and they are expecting large crowds this year and taking proper precautions to handle the same.
