GUWAHATI: The Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) will make the issue of water scarcity in the city its primary plank for contesting the forthcoming election to the Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC). The LDP is fielding two candidates in the poll - in ward No. 56 and ward No. 57.
According to the candidates, if elected they will try and implement rainwater-harvesting methods to reduce the scarcity of potable water by consulting experts. They said that they would also try and rectify the problem of poor road condition in various areas of the city. Further, they would strive to bring more and more needy people under the umbrella of ongoing welfare schemes.
