GUWAHATI: Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla will arrive on a five-day visit to Assam from Friday. According to an official communiqué, he will participate in various programmes related to Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) during his visit.

According to the information received from the Lok Sabha Secretariat, the Speaker will leave New Delhi by air at 5:30 pm on Friday and reach Guwahati at 8:00 pm. He will attend the inaugural session of the Executive Committee meeting of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association at 9:00 am the next day. He will go to the Kamakhya temple at 11:30 in the morning. He will have a dialogue with the Rajasthani community at 4:30 pm.

Birla will inaugurate the eighth convention of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association India Region on April 11. During this, he will also participate in various sessions to be held throughout the day. He will conclude the conference on 12th April at 12:30 pm. The same evening at 6:20 he will leave for New Delhi.
