PALASBARI: Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport (LGBIA) is all set to celebrate Magh Bihu with two meji ghars aesthetically erected and placed at the departure and the arrival terminal halls inside the airport.

LGBIA consistently endeavors to bring the spirit of joy and gaiety amongst the airport fraternity and travellers during such local festivals. All passengers travelling through LGBIA can enjoy the beautiful display of the two meji ghars and have a feel of the 'Bogali time' till the end of the week. The meji ghars are constructed with bamboo and straws. Besides the meji ghars is a xarai made of bamboo and cane and laden with pitha, tilor ladu, aakhoi ladu, jalpan along with three soonga pitha. An artificial wood fire is placed inside the meji ghar giving the travellers a close feel of the festival. A plaque is also placed nearby that describes the essence of Bhogali (Magh) Bihu. Jubilant passengers and young children have been seen taking selfies and snaps with the meji ghars at the airport.
