Man Arrested for Raping his 17-Year-Old Daughter for 7 Years in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: In a horrific incident, city police arrested a man for allegedly raping his 17-year-old daughter for seven years in the heart of Guwahati.

The incident came to light after their landlord lodged an FIR against the accused in the women's police station.

The accused was staying in rent in the Bhetapara area of Guwahati due to his job. They hailed from Kolkata. Police arrested the accused within three hours after the complaint was registered against him.

A case was registered against the father under the POSCO act and IPC 376 2(N), 376 (A B).

Earlier, news of a 10-year-old girl been allegedly assaulted by a man in Moriapatti, Amingaon came to light. According to reports, the accused identified as one Bikash Das, in the absence of the Victim's family member, lured the minor by offering her food items allegedly assaulted the minor. The victim's family was living in a rented house in Moriapatti, Amingaon.

After the incident came to light, the victim's father lodged an FIR in Amingaon Police Station. Amingaon Police said, "Following the victim's father complain in the police station, we have arrested the accused named Bikash Das." "He is arrested under POSCO law and is under interrogation by our officials." added. "Further, the interrogation will only reveal the actual truth." said the police official.
