Man gets 20 years in jail in POSCO case in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: A POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Court here has sentenced a man named Ram Pukar Roy to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment after finding him guilty of sexually abusing a five-year-old child.

The culprit has also been awarded a fine of Rs 10,000.

It may be mentioned that Roy's victim had been found in an unconscious condition in the Birubari area here after being assaulted in 2020.

Roy has been sentenced in connection with a case (981/2020) registered at the Paltanbazar Police Station.
