GUWAHATI: Suresh Borah, the Nagaon District President of Congress, who had earlier resigned from his position as well as the membership of the Congress Party on Friday evening, met with the Chief Minister of Assam at his residence on Saturday morning along with Youth Congress Working President Pratyush Roy ahead of joining the Bharatiya Janata Party.
Several other leaders, including the Head of the Media Cell Dilip Sharma, Guwahati District President Manoj Sharma, General Secretary of the Women Wing Smriti Sharma Hazarika from the Trinnomool Congress, and Dhanjiv Rabha from the Goalpara municipality, also joined the Bharatiya Janata Party.
The joining event was organised in the party head office in the presence of several party leaders, including Bhabesh Kalita, Ranoj Pegu, and Pijush Hazarika. Speaking on the occasion, BJP State President Bhabesh Kalita mentioned that under the BJP, massive development is taking place across the country, and that is why a large number of leaders and members are joining the party regularly. He also mentioned that, under the efforts of the Prime Minister, India will soon become the Biswaguru, and the Assam Chief Minister has taken the state to a new level of development.
