Meritorious students of Guwahati city school felicitated

GUWAHATI: Gurukul Grammar Senior Secondary School, a premier academic institution, on Sunday felicitated meritorious students of the school for their achievements in Class-X and Class-XII examinations under CBSE.

In the Class-XII examination, Soham Shanigrahi scored 98 per cent marks overall in the Science stream with 99 in Mathematics, 95 in Physics, 99 in Chemistry, 99 in Physical Education and 97 in Computer Science, while Ayan Bordoloi scored 98 per cent marks in Humanities with 100 marks in Sociology, 99 in Political Science and 97 in Economics. Kalpita Rajkhowa scored 96 per cent marks in the Commerce stream.

In the class X examination, Sanchita Dutta and Lubna Ahmed scored 97.2 per cent marks while Karismita Dutta and Rajdeep Deka scored 100 in Mathematics, and Harshita Garg and Riya Sarma scored 100 in Assamese.

Vice Principal of the School Nikhilesh Goswami delivered the welcome speech followed by the felicitation to the achievers with a 'phulam Bihuwan' and a bouquet. Earlier, six freshers of the school lit the lamp in the traditional way to mark the inauguration of the function, while young danseuses of the school enthralled the audience with their excellent performance of a Xatriya dance.
