MP Queen Ojha chairs meeting of DISHA in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: A District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee meeting under the title ‘DISHA’ was held at the conference hall of the Deputy Commissioner, Kamrup Metropolitan. The meeting was chaired by Guwahati MP Queen Ojha.

MLA West Guwahati, Ramendra Narayan Kalita, also attended this event. The dignitaries took stock of various developmental projects that are ongoing in the city under different departments. They also checked the amount of developmental work done since the previous meeting of DISHA that was organised in February. Several key officials from multiple departments were also present for this meeting. The status of the cleaning of the city’s sewers as well as the Bahini and Bharlu river cleaning and mud removal work underway was also discussed in this meeting.

The elected representatives also mentioned the Guwahati Metropolitan Development Authority and the Lok Nirman department to ensure that proper actions are taken with regard to the development of the city and making it free from problems, including urban flooding. Maintenance of proper quality roads, drainage, and amenities was also discussed in this meeting.
