National conference on disability and technological role at IIT Guwahati

GUWAHATI: National Institute for Locomotor Disabilities (Divyangjan), under the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Government of India is going to organize a National Conference. The two days conference will be on 10 and 11 January, 2019 in collaboration with IIT Guwahati on the topic ‘Disability and Social Inclusion – The Role of Technology’. The venue of the conference will be Dr Bhupen Hazarika Auditorium, IIT Guwahati.

There will be about 30 Key Speakers from prestigious institutes and about 60 research papers will be presented by the Researchers in the field. It will also bring together about 300 – 350 stake holder working in the area of Technology including scientists, researchers, engineers, doctors, rehabilitation professionals, GOs, NGOs, Civil Rights advocates and students. They will be provided with the opportunity to share their latest findings in the field of Technology for Divyangjan, a press release stated.

The conference will be inaugurated by Krishan Pal Gurjar, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, in the presence of Pramila Rani Brahma, Minister of Social Welfare Department and other dignitaries on 10 January from 10:30 am.
