GUWAHATI: The National Health Mission (NHM), Assam has organized a six-day induction training of Community Health Officers (CHO) from 18 districts under the banner of Swasthya Manthan 2. The induction training started on Monday for the first batch of CHOs.
Health & Family Welfare Minister Keshab Mahanta inaugurated the programme in the presence of Dr MS Lakshmi Priya, MD of NHM, Dr Manoj Kumar Choudhary, ED of NHM Assam and other officials.
Comprehensive Primary Health Care – Health and Wellness Centres is one of the flagship programmes of Centre where the existing Sub-Centres and Primary Health Centres are upgraded to Health and Wellness Centres.
The State will be conducting more such batches in the coming months. The module of Induction Training will cover the Reproductive and Child Health part along with the Non-Communicable Diseases, including the expanded package of services. The training is aimed at fulfilling the need to build the capacity of the Community Health Officers for identification and immediate management and prompt referral of the cases and further improving the skills of all the trainers, stated a press release.
