GUWAHATI: Almost the whole of Assam has been submerged due to incessant rains for the last few days. In the event of this calamity, the 1st Battalion Disaster Response Force with all its strength, loyalty and dedication took quick action with its 14 teams in the heavily flooded districts of Kamrup, Kamrup Rural, Bangaigaon, Barpeta, Bajali, Hojai, Nalbari, Darang,Tamulpur and Udalguri. Along with the rescue work continuously day and night for the last two days, this hardworking force is also working with the district administration to distribute relief materials to the needy people. Shri HPS Kandari, Commander 1st NDRF himself closely monitoring and taking active participation this rescue operation in every district. This rescue team has so far brought about 500 people trapped in the floods to a safe place and the process is still on, a press release said.
