NDRF conducts awareness programme on COVID-19 in Azara

GUWAHATI: The 1st Battalion National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) organized an awareness programme at DDU-GKY, Terrier Security Services Pvt. Ltd. Azara Centre here in collaboration with PHC, Azara.

During the awareness programme, NDRF rescuers generated awareness on the general knowledge about COVID-19 and type of transmission, infection, prevention and control, proper use of mask, hand hygiene and social distancing. A live demonstration on hand washing was also shown as part of the programme. NDRF team also organised the pledge to Community during the awareness campaign.

Randhir Singh Gill, Commandant 1st Battalion NDRF said in statement, "Till there is no vaccine, people must protect themselves, their family members and others."

Besides this, today the teams conducted awareness programme at Nemcare Group of Institutions (NITS), Mirza, Brikolite AAC Block factory, Sila, R.B.H. School Palashbari and M. P School, Mirza, Sport Complex Jorhat, Janaki Charan Higher secondary School Cachar, Sankardev Sishu Niketan, Bhawanipur, Barpeta, Assam.

During the awareness programme rescuers distributed face masks and pamphlets. Rescuers also placed posters and hoardings on COVID-19 at awareness places.
