GUWAHATI: Night curfew may be relaxed in the State during the Durga Puja festival, said Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma while talking to media persons in the city on Monday.

"The State Government has already declared the protocol to be followed during the celebration of Durga Puja. We will try to relax the night curfew during the days of the festival. We are also observing the COVID situation as we do not want the festival celebration to become the beginning of the third wave of COVID. People must wear masks and get themselves inoculated," said the Chief Minister.

Durga Puja celebration will begin from the second week of October and as of now, the night curfew timing is from 9 pm to 5 am.
