GUWAHATI: As a part of the safety precautions in view of the rising water level on the Brahmaputra, the Inland Water Transport Department of the state has decided to suspend ferry services at night. The announcement mentioned that the services would be halted from the afternoon of Friday until any further orders are issued by the authorities. This order is valid for all ferry services between North Guwahati and Guwahati. The daytime services, however, will continue as before, meaning that ferries will be available until 6:30 p.m.
