GUWAHATI: Putting an end to the panic over a person of Assam returning to the State from Kerala recently and falling ill, the Superintendent of the Gauhati Medical College & Hospital (GMCH) has said that blood sample of the person has tested COVID-19 negative.
Talking to the media here on Sunday, GMCH Superintendent Dr. Ramen Talukdar said, “The ailing person from Amchang who was admitted to the GMCH on Saturday has been released. After conducting all tests, he has been found without infection.”
Dr. Talukdar said, “As many as 29 samples related to coronavirus have been collected and tested in the GMCH. None of the samples has been found COVID-19 positive. Such tests are also being conducted in the medical colleges at Dibrugarh, Jorhat and Silchar. Each of the medical colleges has separate wards for coronavirus cases.”
Dr. Talukdar appealed to the people not to be panicked as and when any person comes to the State from outside.
