No urban civic body election before Assam Assembly election

GUWAHATI: It's official now that urban civic body elections won't be held in the State before the Assam Assembly election. The terms of civic bodies in the State expired in March/April, 2020, but their elections couldn't be held because of the outbreak of COVID-19. The State government made an attempt to hold their election in early 2021, but failed.
