GUWAHATI: Northeast Frontier (NF) Railway has been making continuous progress in freight loading. NF Railway loaded 0.923 million tonne (MT) of freight during the month of September, 2022. This is an increase of 11.3 per cent in comparison to the corresponding period of the previous year.
NF Railway has loaded 5.888 MT from April to September of this financial year. This is an increase of 22.1 per cent as compared to corresponding period of the previous year, stated a press release.
During the month of September, 2022, coal loading increased by 554.5 per cent and loading of few other commodities also increased by a good margin in comparison to corresponding period of the previous year. During the month, fertilizer loading increased by 5 per cent, dolomite loading increased by 9.9 per cent and loading of other commodities increased by 32.8 per cent.
During the current financial year from April to September, coal loading increased by 1,118.4 per cent and dolomite loading increased by 14.2 per cent in comparison to corresponding period of the previous year. Fertilizer loading increased by 14.6 per cent, POL loading increased by 10 per cent, container loading increased by 10.6 per cent and other commodities increased by 31.4 per cent. It is an overall increase of 22.1 per cent.
NF Railway is exploring all possible ways to boost the freight loading performance. It denotes its sincere commitments to maintain backend supply chain and to dispatch freight commodities in different parts of the country faster.
