Northeast Frontier Railway to restore passenger train services

GUWAHATI: To fulfil the demand of passengers, Northeast Frontier Railway has decided to restore the daily passenger train services between Katihar - Malda Town and Katihar – Malda Court from December 21, 2021. It has also been decided to restore the passenger train service between Tinsukia and Jorhat Town with effect from 21-12-2021 for the benefit of short distance passengers.

Moreover, a special train will run between New Jalpaiguri and Trivandrum Central for six trips from each direction from this month.

Restoration of train services: Train No. 05702 Katihar-Malda Town daily passenger will run with effect from 21-12-2021 leaving Katihar at 14:50 hours to reach Malda Town at 18:25 hours. In the return direction, Train No. 05701 Malda Town-Katihar daily passenger will run with effect from 22-12-2021 leaving Malda Town at 07:00 hours to reach Katihar at 11:10 hours.

Train No. 05718 Katihar-Malda Court daily passenger will run with effect from 21-12-2021 leaving Katihar at 08:10 hours to reach Malda Court at 11:30 hours. In the return direction, Train No. 05717 Malda Court-Katihar daily passenger will run from Malda Court at 14:00 hours to reach Katihar at 18:15 hours.

Train No. 05918 Tinsukia-Jorhat Town passenger will run six days a week except Saturday with effect from 21-12-2021 leaving Tinsukia at 15:20 hours to reach Jorhat Town at 21:05 hours. In the return direction, Train No. 05917 Jorhat Town-Tinsukia passenger will run 6 days a week except Sunday with effect from 22-12-2021 leaving Jorhat Town at 05:25 hours to reach Tinsukia at 12:20 hours.

Running of special train: Train No. 05706 New Jalpaiguri-Trivandrum Central weekly superfast special will run for six trips from 21-12-2021 to 25-01-2022. The train will leave New Jalpaiguri on Tuesday at 15:10 hours to reach Trivandrum Central at 19:25 hrs on Thursday. In return direction, Train No. 05705

Trivandrum Central-New Jalpaiguri weekly superfast special will run for 06 trips from 24-12-2021 to 28-01-2022. The train will leave Trivandrum Central at 19:40 hours on Friday to reach New Jalpaiguri at 00:10 hours on Monday, stated a press release.

The details of timings and stoppages of these trains are available in IRCTC website and are also being notified in various newspapers and social media platforms of N. F. Railway. Passengers are requested to observe the Covid-19 related safety measures and instructions of their respective states during journey.
