GUWAHATI: The Northeast Frontier Railway has decided to run one weekly express special between Dibrugarh – Silchar, one Shatabdi Special between New Jalpaiguri - Howrah and another special train between Katihar – Amritsar on tri-weekly basis.

The special trains are-

Ø Train No. 05944 Dibrugarh – Silchar weekly express special will run on every Saturday w.e.f. 01-05-2021 leaving from Dibrugarh at 21-55 hours to reach Silchar at 11-00 hours next day. In return direction, Train No. 05943 Silchar – Dibrugarh weekly express special will run on every Sunday w.e.f. 02-05-2021 leaving from Silchar at 14-00 hours to reach Dibrugarh at 04-05 hours next day.

Ø Train No. 05733 Katihar – Amritsar express special will run three days a week – on Monday, Wednesday and Friday w.e.f. 30-04-2021 leaving from Katihar at 22-45 hours to reach Amritsar at 12-20 hours on third day. In return direction, Train No. 05734 Amritsar - Katihar express special will run three days a week – on Thursday, Saturday and Monday w.e.f. 03-05-2021 leaving from Amritsar at 08-25 hours to reach Katihar at 22-10 hours on next day.

Ø Shatabdi Special: Train No. 02841 New Jalpaiguri – Howrah Shatabdi Special will leave from New Jalpaiguri at 05-30 hours to reach Howrah at 13-35 hours. In return direction, Train No. 02842 Howrah – New Jalpaiguri Shatabdi Special will leave from Howrah at 14-15 hours to reach New Jalpaiguri at 22-35 hours. The train will run three days a week – on Monday, Wednesday and Friday w.e.f. 28-04-2021 from both directions.

The details of stoppages and timings of these trains are available in Railway's website and are also being notified in various newspapers and social media platforms of N. F. Railway.

Railway is following COVID related guidelines issued by respective State governments in various stations. Necessary help is being provided to the Health department of respective states for testing arrangement of train passengers. Passengers should travel with minimum luggage and wear face covers/masks at the stations and trains during travel. Passengers shall observe social distancing both at the station and on trains. All passengers are also advised to download and use the Aarogya Setu application before undertaking the journey. Railway has also decided to impose fine on passenger if found violating any COVID related safety guidelines, stated a release.

On arrival at their destination, the passengers will have to adhere to prevailing health protocols of the destination state. All passengers are requested to co-operate with the railway and respective state govt officials in this regards, the release added.
