GUWAHATI: Oil India Limited (OIL), in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE), organized a public interaction session at the Gauhati Town Club on Wednesday with the aim of raising awareness about the Public Interest Disclosure and Protection of Informers Resolution (PIDPI) as per the directive of the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC).

Partha Pratim Dutta, CGM-Vigilance of Oil India Limited, emphasised the importance of staying vigilant about one’s surroundings in his keynote speech. He encouraged the young participants to step forward and report any wrongdoings through PIDPI.

The Public Interest Disclosure and Protection of Informers Resolution (PIDPI) is a resolution that authorizes the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) as a ‘Designated Agency’ to receive written complaints on any allegation of corruption and misuse of office by any employee of the Central Government or any other corporation, company, society, etc. owned or controlled by the Central Government. Under the PIDPI resolution, the identity of the complainant is kept secret, and the complainant is protected from victimization for making such complaints. Awareness about PIDPI is an initiative under a 3-month campaign ahead of Vigilance Awareness Week 2023.

Distinguished speakers Jumita Saikia, CVO of NEDFI; Dr. Pallavi Devi, Assistant Professor in the Department of Law of Gauhati University; and Dr. Kanak Haloi, Retired Professor of NIRDPR, highlighted the significance of PIDPI and urged attendees to be aware of their rights, the process for filing complaints through PIDPI, and the protection it offers to complainants under PIDPI Resolution 2004.

The session concluded with a vote of thanks from Partha Jyoti Das, DGM-Vigilance at OIL. Participants from diverse backgrounds attended the session, promoting public interaction and awareness.
