One arrested in suspected transgender murder case from Sivasagar

GUWAHATI: One accused has been arrested by the Chandmari Police in connection with the murder case of suspected transgender Amdadul Islam, alias Priyanka. The accused is identified as Hamidul Islam, who was arrested from Sivasagar. Hamidul hails from Bilasipara in Dhubri district.

According to sources, Hamidul was detained and was interrogated and after grilling, he was arrested on Wednesday. The police could arrest Hamidul after tracing the mobile phone of Amdadul. It may be mentioned that Amdadul was found dead on October 28. The motive behind the murder of Amdadul is still uncertain.
