One tout arrested by Railway Protection Force, Guwahati

GUWAHATI: A team of Crime Intelligence Branch of RPF (Railway Protection Force), Guwahati with the help of Hatigaon Police conducted a search in one travel agency namely 'Maruti Creations', located at Bishnu Rabha Path, against illegal business of procuring and supplying of railway e-tickets.

In course of the search, the team recovered 31 railway e-tickets which were generated using a personal user ID. The value of the seized e-tickets is Rs 29,183.

On being asked, the owner of the agency failed to produce any authorization certificate of IRCTC for running the business. As such, the recovered railway e-tickets along with other relevant items were seized and the owner Alok Kumar Jain was taken into custody. The arrested person with seized materials was produced before Inspector, RPF, New Guwahati, who registered a case vide No. 25/2021 U/S 143 Rlys Act. The accused person will be forwarded to the Court on Friday.
