GUWAHATI: Only regionalism can protect the language, culture, and economy of Assam. The masses have also realized this. This is now reflected in the support of the people towards the regional forces. This was stated by AJP (Assam Jatiya Parishad) president Lurinjyoti Gogoi while participating in two election rallies in Guwahati on Saturday.

The two poll rallies were held in support of party candidate for East Guwahati, Adip Phukan; and AJP's candidate for Dispur, Prince Faizul Hoque.

Addressing the large rallies at both the places, Gogoi stressed, "I seek the blessings of all mothers in our endeavour to make our motherland secure and developed."

He added, "Development is not evident anywhere in the State. But everyone is witnessing open corrupt practices. This is writ large in the syndicate raj across most of the sectors."

Gogoi further alleged, "By supporting the contentious CAA (Citizenship Amendment Act), the ruling party and its alliance partners are pushing the State towards political and social crises."
