Condemning the 'attacks' on farmers by the Central government, the bodies took to the street in Guwahati to show their support to the protesting peasants. "Today in Assam the CITU, SFI and several other unions came out to support the protesting farmers in Delhi. How can the government torture the farmers of the country?" a protester said while speaking to the media persons.

"When the farmers became violent in the protest, instead of trying to neutralize the situation, the government called the protest as Khalisthanbadi movement and anti-national movement," the protestor added.

It is to be noted that, more than 300,000 farmers had marched upon Delhi and set up vast camps to protest against the new farm laws.
