GUWAHATI: The State government must reserve five percent of seats in all educational institutions for people with special abilities. This demand was made by PSSA (Pratibandhi Suraksha Sangstha Assam) secretary Nripen Malakar while addressing the media here on Wednesday.

Tapash Kalita, member of the 'Drishtiheen Yuba Sanstha', pointed out, "Till date, no such reservation has been accorded in Assam even though the 'Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act-2016' has such a provision."

The members of these organisations also sent memoranda to Education Minister and Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities in this regard.
