GUWAHATI: The Central Bureau of Communication, Regional office, Guwahati under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting organized a one-day photo exhibition on the theme of 'Har Ghar Tiranga' under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav in Noonmati High School, Guwahati on Monday.
Inaugurating the exhibition, B. Narayanan, Director General, North East Zone, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, said,"We are celebrating Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav across the whole country. We are paying tributes to the unsung heroes of our freedom struggle through these exhibitions. Our main purpose is to make people aware about our heroes who sacrificed their lives for our Independence. We may come from different places, different castes, different religions, but we are all Indians first. This is the spirit we should all embrace as Indians."
On this occasion, Gulok Bora, Academic Officer, Board of Secondary Education, recalled the sacrifices of the freedom fighters of the Nation. He also urged the students to remember and follow the ideals of the freedom fighters.
Anubhav Parashar, writer and journalist, Pradip Kumar Sarma, Headmaster, Noonmati HighSchool, Manoj Kumar Lal, Accounts Officer, and Hiramani Das, Field Exhibition Officer of CBC, Guwahati were also present in the occasion. The exhibition showcased various photo panels on many unsung heroes of India's freedom struggle as well as freedom fighters of the Northeast. An art competition and quiz competition among students were also organized on this occasion.
A book stall displaying more than 100 books on the lives of many eminent personalities and freedom fighters of the Northeast by Gati Assam and Sintamani Publications were also put up in the exhibition.
