PIL on Deepor Beel conservation: Assam Government seeks 2-week time

GUWAHATI: Assam Government, on Thursday, sought an additional two-week time to submit its response against the observations made as per the orders of the Gauhati High Court. A PIL (18/2023) was filed by Pramod Kalita, Sonesh Teron and Depak Terang for Deepor Beel conservation.

The Gauhati High Court had earlier given a time for four weeks to the state government. The court gave the time with the rider that the respondents will have to submit the latest status report of the projects undertaken pursuant to the earlier directions given by the High Court as well as the National Green Tribunal (NGT).
