GUWAHATI: Preparations for the TAC (Tiwa Autonomous Council) election of Kamrup (M) District Administration are going on in full swing. There are six TAC constituencies in Kamrup (M) district. The election to the autonomous council is going to be held on December 17 in as many as 36 constituencies in Nagaon, Morigaon and Hojai districts, apart from Kamrup (M).

The six TAC constituencies in Kamrup (M) and the number of their respective voters are – Dimoria with 11,690 voters; Digaru with 17,127 voters, Khetri with 12,823 voters, Sonapur with 17,304 voters Ampri with 7,829 voters and Phongari with 8,407 voters. There are as many as 100 polling centres in the six constituencies. DC Biswajit Pegu visited a number polling stations and reviewed the arrangements there. On December 8 and 9 there will be training for presiding and polling officers. As many as 132 presiding officers and 396 polling officers will be deployed in the district.
