GUWAHATI: The Samagra Siksha, Assam has roped in a Guwahati-based firm to handle safety and security measures in 41,429 Government/Provincialized elementary schools and 4,364 Government/Provincialized secondary schools of the State.

An agreement was signed recently between the Samagra Siksha, Assam and M/s Educative, as per which the firm will act as the training partner for implementation of safety and security measures.

The firm will carry out several activities under the agreement. These include delivering one fire extinguisher each for these schools, which will be centrally delivered at the respective offices of the Block Mission Coordinators, district-wise.

Secondly, M/s Educative will similarly deliver a school safety pledge poster in four languages - Assamese, English, Bodo and & Bengali - for these schools.

Thirdly, it will deliver a teachers' referral book and an assessment test book for each school.

Fourthly, it will conduct a 4-day online teachers' orientation-cum-training programme for the principals/head teachers of these schools on the following areas: orientation on maintaining health & hygiene among the schoolchildren, among support staff and the school campus as a whole; training on Covid-19 related safety, security and precautionary measures; training the school teachers on Prevention of Sexual Harassment of Women at Work Place (POSH Act) and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO Act); training on various aspects of child rights and child protection, prevention and protection from human trafficking menace; disaster preparedness and response with specific training considering the natural and man-made disaster of the State, keeping the geographical aspects of the State in consideration; providing basic first aid at school level; training on important aspects related to nutrition and healthy food habits, keeping the district-wise socio-economic condition of the State in consideration and availability of nutritional and healthy food locally.

Further, M/s Educative will develop training content on all these training components.
