Probe ordered into irregularities in distribution of black lentils in Assam

GUWAHATI: State Agriculture Minister Atul Bora has ordered a high-level probe into the allegations of irregularities in the distribution of black lentils among beneficiaries in the Golaghat district.

In this regard, the minister has written to a letter to Dr Ashish Kumar Bhutani, Additional Chief Secretary to the Government of Assam, and Agriculture Production Commissioner, Assam, asking him to initiate a probe by high-level officials of the department into the allegations of irregularities in the distribution of black lentils among beneficiaries under a scheme of the State Agriculture Department, in the Golaghat district. The report of the inquiry must be submitted by August 31.
