Programme on Ambedkar's death anniversary on December 6

GUWAHATI: The Asom Anusuchit Jati Yuba Chatra Santha (AAJYCS) will celebrate the death anniversary of Dr Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar here on December 6. Addressing the media persons, AAJYCS member Nrityananda Das said the State-level programme will be held at the Dighalipukhuri Park where several people will be honoured.

During the programme, Baba Shaheb Bota 2020 will be conferred to educationist Dr Haren Chandra Das. The award carries Rs 10,000, a xarai, gamucha and a citation.

While the Kriti Siksha Bota will be presented to retired teacher of Jorhat's Titabor Borkhola Higher Secondary School, Sidha Nanda Das, the Naba Chetona Jagrato Bota will be conferred on Rituraj Das. The programme will be started with a cleanliness drive at 6 am followed by a cultural procession at 10:30 am. An open meeting chaired by AAJYCS president Nripen Das will be held at 12 pm.
