Protest meeting held against move to privatize Assam state Zoo

GUWAHATI: Under the Chiriyakhana Suraksha Mancha (CSM), a protest meeting was held here on Monday against the government's decision to privatize the Assam State Zoo-cum-Botanical Garden.

The attendees opposed the government's decision and said the move will not be accepted at any cost.

The meeting took a resolution to file a PIL at the Gauhati High Court against the privatization and corruption in the State Zoo.

Another resolution was taken to file an FIR against the Zoo DFO for his alleged involvement in corruption.

During the meeting, a decision was taken to form a Sanmilita Sangram Samiti to discuss the plan of action to hold protests regarding various issues of the Zoo.

The protest meeting was also attended by MP Ajit Kumar Bhuyan among various organizations.
