GUWAHATI: The Pratibandi Suraksha Sanstha, Assam (PSSA) in collaboration with Borluit Nyakh, observed the International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPwD) at the Lakshmiram Baruah Sadan auditorium on Sunday. As a part of the programme, a rally attended by more than 500 people was organized.

In the programme, 50 differently abled students were felicitated for their outstanding results in the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) examinations and Higher Secondary (HS) examinations for the years 2022 and 2023. The programme was attended by distinguished guests BTR Executive Member Gautam Das, Dr. Hitesh Baruah, Assistant Transport Commissioner Gautam Das, Dr. Junmoni Borgohain, and others.

PSSA secretary Nripen Malakar, addressing the gathering, said, "Since the last eight years, PSSA has been working for the rights of differently abled people. If the government does not work to meet our demands, then we will be compelled to take it to the streets."

Borluit Nyakh Trustee Dipankar Kalita and Pankaj Medhi also addressed the audience.
