Railway Protection Force and GRP drive against mobile phone stealing at Guwahati Station

GUWAHATI: The Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police (GRP) have jointly conducted drives in order to control the theft of passengers at Guwahati Station. RPF and GRP apprehended one miscreant with a stolen Redmi mobile. The accused is identified as Ibrahim Khan (33) from Mondiya, Barpeta.

The miscreant is handed over to the OC GRP who registered a case vide no. 72/2023, U/S 379 IPC, dated June 14, 2023. The miscreant confessed that he took the privilege of the darkness of the coach at the time of the placement at the station.

It may be mentioned that the RPF and GRP arrested miscreants with stolen phones during the months of May and June until Wednesday.

They are identified as Arshab Ali from Hatijulua, District Nagaon, Assam; Deep Mahata from Uzanbazar district Kamrup (M); Arjun Roy from Ganeshguri (Kahilipara) district Kamrup (M); Rahul Das from Lakhimpur district Lakhimpur; Suman Das from Abhaynagar district West Tripura; and Rajesh Das from Badarpur district Kachar. In all cases, OC GRP has registered the cases.
