Red spit stains appear on Maligaon flyover before inauguration

GUWAHATI: One of the most anticipated projects of the city, the Maligaon flyover, is due to open for the public in a few days, but it has already been painted red with spit stains.

Images appeared online and were widely shared on social media, mentioning the indecent behaviour of a section of the citizens who have no respect for hygiene and cleanliness and continue to spit at each and every location that they come across.

The new flyover has been recently completed, and the artwork to decorate it was done recently. Although the artists had already requested that people not repeat the incident of the supermarket flyover, which was dirtied on the day of the opening, these people hardly seemed to care. They had also asked the administration to set up CCTV cameras to prevent such incidents, and it remains to be seen if the officials actually follow this decision.
