Regional forces team up to defeat BJP in Assam General Election, 2021

GUWAHATI: With a view to defeating the BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) in Assam General Election, 2021 and to establish regional power in Dispur, the regional powers of Assam have teamed up to form a united forum.

Addressing the media on Sunday, Rajya Sabha MP Ajit Kumar Bhuyan said that as a part of the primary effort towards forming a single forum with the united power of all regional powers, a total of 6 regional bodies including the Asom Sangrami Mancha, Ancholikotabad Suroksha Mancha, Liberal Democratic Party and three others met for a discussion and have decided to challenge the BJP government in the upcoming elections.

Bhuyan said, "This time regional power will conquer Dispur by defeating BJP. We will put effort into a bigger forum; however characteristics will be different from earlier regionalism. We have already sat for discussion with several regional bodies. Our prime focus is to appear as a regional power by uniting different body in one single platform."

He further said that as of now no such decision has been taken towards the formation of political party.

"Decisions will be taken by looking into the demand of time. Only time will decide the role of the forum. However it is certain that this forum will play a vital role in the upcoming election. There will be no compromise on one particular thing that is we will have to defeat BJP by hook or by crook." Bhuyan added.
