GUWAHATI: Regional Outreach Bureau, Guwahati organized a webinar on 'Quality Education and Skill Development among Students' on Tuesday. This webinar was organized to raise awareness regarding the need for quality education and skill development among students.
Dr. Anupa Lahkar, Assistant Professor, Department of Communication and Journalism, Gauhati University, spoke extensively on the importance of quality education in the present era. Talking about the scenerio of the education in India, Dr. Lahkar said that there was need to make the students industry-ready so that after completing their academics they would get suitable jobs. Deliberating in the webinar, she further added that literacy and education may be the two sides of the same coin but literacy does not imply that a person is educated.
Speaking in the webinar, Parag Kumar Nath, Principal of Prajapati HS School, Borogaon, Sonitpur said that parents must allow their children to choose the subject of their choice to pursue their career. This will help them to make progress and achieve their goals.
Arijit Chakraborty, Deputy Director, Regional Outreach Bureau, Guwahati, delivered the welcome address in the webinar. While delivering the address, Chakraborty said that students must be made aware of the various schemes of the government, it will enhance their knowledge and will also help in making them a better citizen of this country.
The webinar was attended by the students of various educational institutions across Assam. Officials of Press Information Bureau and Regional Outreach Bureau of Guwahati were also present in the webinar.
