Retired Dy Managing Director of SBI Anjan Barua Dies of Post Covid Complexities

GUWAHATI: The retired Dy Managing Director of SBI, Anjan Barua, son of Ex MP, noted Litterateur and Assam Pride Hem Barua died on 22.05.2021 at Health city Hospital due to post Covid complexities. Born in 1952, Mr Barua joined Bank in 1973 as Probationary officer after completion of his master's in physics from Delhi University. Working in different assignment of Bank in India and abroad he retired in 2012 as Deputy Managing Director of State Bank of India. He is the only SBI official from Assam and north east who hold such a higher post of SBI.

After his retirement he stayed in Panjabari area and was working in publishing the valuable books of his father Hem Barua. He left behind his wife writer Rupali Devi Barua, one son two daughters and may others. The cremation of AnjanBarua took place today at Nabagraha which was deferred , waiting his daughter to reach from USA.
