Tainted DIG shifted from MMCH

GUWAHATI: Suspended DIG (Deputy Inspector General) of Assam Police -- Rounak Ali Hazarika -- was shifted to GMCH (Gauhati Medical College & Hospital) from MMCH (Mahendra Mohan Choudhury Hospital) here on Wednesday night.

According to Police source, Rounak Ali Hazarika complained of pain in his chest on Wednesday. Then, he was shifted to MMCH that very night.

Earlier during the day, the Court of the Special Judge here granted 10-day Police Custody to Ali Hazarika in the disproportionate assets case. Following investigation, the CM's Special Vigilance Cell arrested him from his house at Hegerabari here on Tuesday.
